Grab Your Board and Head to the Allersee Lake
Standup paddleboarding is a popular sport that takes place out on the water, where you stand up straight on a board and use a paddle to move around. It is not only a fun activity, but can also be used as a form of physical training.
In fact, one of the great things about standup paddleboarding is that it provides your body with a joint-friendly workout from head to toe. Your dynamic movement on the water places a special focus on your sense of balance and your core muscles, both of which are important factors when it comes to combating a common health problem: back pain. Standup paddleboarding also helps to strengthen your legs and the muscles in your upper body.
If you want to try it out for yourself, you can hire boards from the “Monkeyman” high ropes course before heading out onto the water. Four boards are available to hire, with the organisation of two additional boards possible by prior agreement and when reserved in advance. Board hire costs €13 per hour or €8 for 30 minutes.
If mastering a board on your own right from the word go is too much of a challenge, you can also sign up to attend a course. The park’s standup paddleboarding course lasts 90 minutes and starts with a practice exercise on dry land before heading onto the Allersee. The course is run by the personal trainer Marcus Buchholz. You can find out more about his courses and how to book on his website.
